Pockets of Love

This was a request for a birthday card for a wife, with 'Two Hearts, One Love' one it. The front says Two Hearts and the inside reads One Love.
I used the NA cart for the twin hearts, and created them into a pocket, I then cut curved rectangles, one in white and shadow in purple on the George, the little hearts are to pull the little tags, that allow you to put a secret message.
The stamps I used are from Woodware, the Bell Flower set.
Must go guests have just arrived.

Rhi's Ribbon Flower Challenge

This is my first ever challenge, Rhi set the task to make a card with a flower 'Ribbon' on it, she gave detailed instructions on how to make the flower, the rest was up to me.

I cut the rattle from the NA Cricut range and then I cut the pattern part for the rattle several times to make it look like chipboard. I softened the edges of the rattle with blue chalk and created a purple shadow to help lift it from the card.

The sentiment again was cut using the NA cart, I cut 3 layers in the different colours; blue, cream & purple, did not quite come out how I wanted but I am still happy with it.

I then set about making the flower using bits & bobs from my ribbon box. Completed the card with a few buttons.

Don't forget if you fancy having a go look on Rhi's blog Rings Like a Bell.

Whew......my first challenge over; in fact I really enjoyed making it, and that is what crafting is all about.

Rant of the Day

Grrgggh.....
Just been to a certain supermarket, the smallest queue was six deep...and that was just where I was standing. Further up the row of tills I counted eight people.
I asked if they were getting any more checkout staff and was told, "we have done a shout out and no one has come over".
Finally two extra staff turn up and all customers at the end of queues scramble to get there first, how selfish is that surely you would let the people standing in front of you go first, I mean after all they have been standing in line longer.
To add salt into the wound, I heard a member of staff say to another "Why is everyone shopping today?".
Still I guess there is worse things in life to get annoyed about.....but I am sure many of you have been in this situation and it can be frustrating.......need to craft relieve some tension:(

Two Hearts one Love

It is my friends 1st Wedding Anniversary and with paper being the traditional gift idea I decided to make a card using various mediums of paper.
The heart paper is actually vellum, the hearts and sentiment are pearlesant blue to match my friends dress, this picture is the moment where people threw paper confetti.
The wool is ready for their seventh & the metal brad for their 10th!!!
I wrote various words round the heart which related to paper and love.
The hearts were cut using the silhouette on George.

Dashing off now, need to make a New Home card........great weekend for crafting as the weather outside is; well to put it bluntly pants.

Any one for Quads?

Yes you guessed it, this a neutral card for someone who has had a set of quadrupletes. I have just received my New Arrival cart, which I blogged about yesterday.

This is simple card and easy to make, although the hardest bit for me was getting the text in the right place as I did this on my printer.

I cut the little feet and stuck them on with pop up foam pads, who wants to tickle them?

I am Buttoned to your Heart

Well, did not think that I was going to any wedding this year, then suddenly an invitation landed on the door mat. So what better excuse than to set about creating an acceptence card.
This heart was cut on George in a wood grain effect card, then another the same size in a thick brown paper style card. The purple heart was cut using the shadow function, all on size 3.5ins.
Raided my button box for 3 purple hearts.
A ribbon on the left which is beige with purple each side and then over the top of that is some purple funky fibres.
This is all mounted on some fine fabric handmade paper and placed on a purple square card.
On the inside I have cut 2 hearts in the woodgrain card in different sizes to write my message.
Just need to get myself a new outfit now........traaa lalalalal

Rhys Gets Christened

Today has been busy; got tagged so had to think of some interesting things about myself....I tried my best.
Also been to a Christening today and this is the card I made for little Rhys Alexander, he was such a sweetie, he was so good all the way through the Baptism.
The card was a simple design using Colossal Star Paper, the stamped image is another one from the Woodware range, so love those stamps.
I embossed using Clear Denim colour - Heat it Up range
I glossed the wheels, edging and stars on pram with my fav 'glossy accents', I then sprinkled glitter over the gloss before it dried to add some sparkle.
The square and rectangle cut using George and the letters were also cut from George on the sign setting to get them small.
Little teddy to finish.

I am Tagged

I have been tagged by Patsy who truly does have an awesome sense of style.

I am new to this blogging thing and I have not been tagged before. So I am going to tag seven other people who's blogs I really adore.
What to do
Each player starts with seven random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to blog about their seven things and post the rules as well. At the end of your blog you need to choose seven people to get tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them that they have been tagged and to read your blog!!

Oh to be tagged......

  • I wish I was taller, some might think that 5.5in is a good height, but for me I want to be taller.......the theory is that it might make me look slimmer!
  • I need to get back into my running routine....but cannot tear myself away from blogging or crafting.
  • This year I am going to tour round Scotland in a 1972 Volkswagen Camper Van, cannot wait. I wonder if I can sneak my Cricut into the van without the hubby seeing?
  • I spent the first months of my life living in a round house (Oast House) in Sussex, wish I could remember it.
  • I own a 1965 Volkswagen Beetle, but despite also making a trip this year to Scotland in a VW Camper, I am not a hippie......but maybe my heart is?
  • I love the smell of rain after the sun has been shinning :)
  • I miss all my friends and family back in Kent.

Get your skates on.....

I made this little girlie card, happy and smiley roller skating along with no worries or woes to bother her.........aaahhhhhhh bliss how wonderful if only life could be like that always.....!

Back to the real world, this was made on DL sized card and stamped with the girl range from Woodware clear stamps.
The ink was Brilliance Pink Orchid, I then coloured with my favourite Marvy pens and glossed with glossy accents.
The flowers were the flower1 & silhouette on the George Cricut. distressed with soft pink from the Color Box range, this colour was also used the distress the square.
Sentiment also from the girl stamp set.
