My First Altered Art

Sorry I have been a bad blogger, I have been so engrossed in doing the brill challenges on the Just Bex site....
One of the challenges was to alter something for crafty storage, great I thought time to do something for ME!
I had never altered anything before, so this is my first go. The paper has little buttons all over it & is from Crate Paper, the green is the reverse side of the paper, it's from their seaweed collection.
The flower on top & the word were cut using the Cricut....I now have somewhere for my buttons.

Card on a Card

This is another Just Bex challenge, you had to create a Christmas card using the layout here. I decided to made the top square into a mini card that tucks behind the Poinsettia to keep it closed.
The gold poinsettias I edged with Rouge chalk ink to soften them, the holly paper is by Anna Griffin.

James' Baptism

I was asked to design & make the invitations & Order of Service for a Baptism, the child is 5, therefore the design required was to be that little bit older than the norm, and he was included in deciding what he would like on the cards. He likes pirates, dinosaurs and anything nautical, I thought nautical would be ideal for a Baptism, so I set about making them.

The boat was cut using the New Arrival cart for the Cricut machine, the red in shadow & the blue in norm. I stuck the boat part together & popped the sails to add depth, the clouds were also cut using this cart & I used fluffy stuff which you heat emboss, I did this on all 60 clouds that I cut!!!! The background I used shimmer blue chalk blended onto the card.

The waves were cut on Zooballoo cart & French Blue chalk ink used on edges. The lettering on the invite was using the George, YES I stuck each letter myself on all 30 cards!!!

The cut of the invite card is using a swing card cut technique, a bit tricky but easy once you get used to. On the back behind the boat part is the details of the venue.

The order of service, is the same boat & waves, but on a larger scale, I printed the text in the same font as the venue details on the back of the invitation.

Button Nosed Reindeer

Over on Just Bex, the challenge has been set to create 5 Christmas cards using buttons, here is one that I did earlier using the Cricut to cut a Reindeer.

This one was also using the Cricut to create the stocking, the red parts are raised up off the green. The tartan ribbon Samm very kindly gave to me.

I'll post the others later.....

.......and here they are:

This one is a reindeer peel off that I stuck onto acetate & glittered the swirly antlers, the button is sparkly & I put a wee snowflake peel off onto it.

The tree was cut on the Cricut twice, one is shadow, the star is a button, the shine is painted using shimmer paints.

This is a swing card using a Woodware Penguin stamp, shimmer paints, fluffy stuff and glitter. The sentiment cut using the Cricut. Paper from the Christmas Stack.

Paisley Birthday

Been a bad blogger lately, I have been so busy working on a project for somebody that I have just not had time to create any new pieces.
Here's my first, I did it for the Paisley challenge over on Just Bex, although I think I may have lost my mojo after working on this other project. Which I will post a copy of soon I promise, it has been great fun working on invitations for a Baptism....
Gosh cannot believe we are in October already; where has this year gone?
