The Favour & the Place Name

In the thirteenth century sugared almonds were given to guests at weddings, they were known then simply as Confetti, so glad that throwing them did not become a tradition - imagine the injuries that could be sustained on that one. Anyway I digress, over time they became known as sugared almonds and five almonds would be presented in a box or delicate fabric pouch, each one having a meaning: fertility, longevity, wealth, health and happiness and together the sweetness of the sugar and the bitterness of the almond represented the bitter sweetness of marriage.

I have always been moved by the meaning of the old tradition and had almonds at my own wedding.
But now anything goes lottery tickets, CD's, mini make up, shot glasses, picture frames of the happy couple, you name it someone has done it!
I started to wonder if I could create a favour and a place name all in one, now that would be different wouldn't it?
That's when I tried creating a tag and adding it to the favours and was pleased with the result.

I then discovered Bath Bomb Creations, and thought how unusual, I'd seen everything else for favours but not these.
I quickly decided that they would look wonderful in the little favour bags and boxes that I hand make, and to my surprise they got in touch and turns out they thought the same.

A really unique mix, the favours that I create are unusual and usually get guests talking or at least going 'ahhhh' so filled with these cute little handmade from natural ingredients Bath Creamers makes it all the more 'ahhh'.

If your inspired by these ideas then please get in touch with either myself at Perfect Day Wishes or the lovely girls over at Bath Bomb Creations we are all friendly and would love to work with you to make your day truly special.

A French Affair

I had the privilege to do all the wedding stationery for Audrey and John’s wedding and it was a privilege in the true sense of the word, Audrey is French and was getting married in France, with that wonderful French accent how could I possibly not want to work with her.

Audrey had very clear ideas about what she wanted, her parents live in France and their property surrounded by lavender; I’ll paint the picture take a canvas and to it apply your perception of Provence then dip your brush into the most beautiful lavender scented paint and there you have it the taste of what was to come.

I created invitations on paper that were rolled up and tied with gorgeous organza ribbon and then a stem or two of lavender inserted. Audrey was very particular that the lavender had to come from the place where she was getting married, so on a trip to Provence she took the invitations and picked the lavender and threaded the beautiful scented herb into the ribbon of each invite.
Sadly I never got a photo of them with the lavender, but I did take a photo before the lavender was added.

This is Audrey's Beautiful Bouquet that she had made from

More stationery items were needed to make the day super special, Audrey wanted all her guests to have lavender seeds that they could grow and then be reminded of the day they spent in Provence with Audrey and John.

I made little card handbag favours, each with their own little growing instructions.

The little gifts for guests did not stop there, organza bags filled with lavender coloured sweets were the favours on the table with a little double layered tag with Audrey and John’s details.

Her father had made little pots of preserves too for the male guests, such a lovely little touch.
Each guest had their place name tag tied with ribbon to the French napkins at their place setting and a stem of lavender adorned this too.

You may think that by now the tables are becoming cluttered, but Audrey has such finesse that I trusted her vision when she asked that I make boxes for a wedding quiz to go into!
The wedding quiz was rolled into a box and tied again with the themed ribbon, a tag added and what guest would not want to take a peek and see what all the fuss was about!

Each table was named after a herb and the menu on each table was in both French and English, the menu was also on the seating plan which I think is lovely touch.

The day was a beautiful one, the views of the local area were amazing, Audrey and John really make the perfect pair.

If like the idea of having bespoke stationery at your wedding that you have had a lot of input with, I would love to work with you. Please feel free to get in touch or visit my website www.perfectdaywishes.co.uk

Pyramid Favour Boxes

I am back with some more of these pyramid favour boxes; I love them so much that I want to have them in lots of different patterns and colours. The best bit is that they have place names attached to them so that saves a separate place name and your guests will love the gift with their own name on the front of it.
Your guests will see how much you have thought of them on your wedding day Perfect Day Wishes

This pattern is so gorgeous swirls and flourishes with heart shaped leaves, it is such an elegant design.

I am Still Spotty

For the fear of being boring, I am still seeing spots; maybe I need a doctor. The remedy for my dotty spottiness is to tell you all about another favour creation. They look a bit like those cootie catchers, but they're not, that are more like stars. Fancy a spotted star! Perfect Day Wishes is twinkling brightly.
Folded in such a way, that each side folds up to form a point at the top which is held together with a ribbon hand-tied into a bow. Your guests name can be printed onto a tag which is attached saving the need for a separate place name. These favour boxes can be filled with all sorts of goodies for something different hop over to Bath Bomb Creations as they have some lovely handmade goodies that your guests will adore.

Spot the Pyramid!

What does a girl do when she is in love with all things spotty, dotty or even polka dotty? Well in my case I created more paper crafted goodies for my Swiss Dots range, but here's the thing they've gone pyramid-al!

Yes a neat little pyramid shaped favour box to fill with whatever you choose to give to your guests at your wedding, mini make up for the ladies, yummy sweets or why not be even more unique and fill with gorgeous handmade bath goodies by Bath Bomb Creations
I got very creative while in my dottie mood and added name tags to the favour boxes so that your guests can find their seat and be delighted with their most unusual gift and saving pennies as separate place names would not be needed. They measure 9x9x9cm and stand about 8.5cm high; a smaller option is available on my web site which is where you can find these spotty pyramids Perfect Day Wishes
