I had the privilege to do all the wedding stationery for Audrey and John’s wedding and it was a privilege in the true sense of the word, Audrey is French and was getting married in France, with that wonderful French accent how could I possibly not want to work with her.
Audrey had very clear ideas about what she wanted, her
parents live in France and their property surrounded by lavender; I’ll paint
the picture take a canvas and to it apply your perception of Provence then dip
your brush into the most beautiful lavender scented paint and there you have it
the taste of what was to come.
I created invitations on paper that were rolled up and tied with
gorgeous organza ribbon and then a stem or two of lavender inserted. Audrey was
very particular that the lavender had to come from the place where she was
getting married, so on a trip to Provence she took the invitations and picked
the lavender and threaded the beautiful scented herb into the ribbon of each
invite.
Sadly I never got a photo of them with the lavender, but I
did take a photo before the lavender was added.
This is Audrey's Beautiful Bouquet that she had made from
More stationery items were needed to make the day super
special, Audrey wanted all her guests to have lavender seeds that they could
grow and then be reminded of the day they spent in Provence with Audrey and
John.
I
made little card handbag favours, each with their own little growing
instructions.
The little gifts for guests did not stop there, organza bags
filled with lavender coloured sweets were the favours on the table with a
little double layered tag with Audrey and John’s details.
Her father had made little pots of preserves too for the
male guests, such a lovely little touch.
Each guest had their place name tag tied with ribbon to the
French napkins at their place setting and a stem of lavender adorned this too.
You may think that by now the tables are becoming cluttered,
but Audrey has such finesse that I trusted her vision when she asked that I
make boxes for a wedding quiz to go into!
The wedding quiz was rolled into a box and tied again with
the themed ribbon, a tag added and what guest would not want to take a peek and
see what all the fuss was about!
Each table was named after a herb and the menu on each table
was in both French and English, the menu was also on the seating plan which I
think is lovely touch.
The day was a beautiful one, the views of the local area
were amazing, Audrey and John really make the perfect pair.
